Winners Announced!
It's time to announce the lucky winners from my Birthday post. Thankyou for all your lovely comments. :0) Three prizes ... three bowls ... three names.
'The Alpine Quilt' will be going to ........... Marg H. Chirpy Chic is going to find a new home with .......... Val The squares will wing their way to ............ Red Heads But wait! There's one more! Every comment from that post went into another bigger bowl and a name drawn out to become ...
Lucky winner number 4 ......... Jeanette (a surprise parcel)
Congratulations ladies! I'll be sending you an email asking for your postal addresses shortly. Talk about frustrating! Is anyone else having trouble with their spacing? I haven't noticed any other blogs all garbled like mine are but could sure use some advice.Monday, 28 March 2011
Birthday Giveaway
Saturday meant it was time for a little ... or a lot ... of yummy chocolate mud cake for my birthday. So what better reason to have a giveaway?
All you need to do is leave a comment telling me which items you would like to win ... can be all 3 if you're super lucky. Then on Monday the 4th of April I'll pop all the names into corresponding hats and draw out the lucky winners.
As an avid reader of the 'Elm Creek' series, this book didn't have as much quilt content as I expected, but none the less I found it hard to put down. An enjoyable read. If you would like the chance to read 'The Alpine Quilt', just ask for "Book" in your comment.
Now that my little chicken is all finished he doesn't really suit my kitchen, so if you would like to give him or her a nice home please ask for "Chicken" in your comment.
These half square triangles were leftovers from my SIL quilt. I couldn't just throw them away but I know I'll never put them to use. If you would like to put them to good use then ask for "Squares" in your comment.
Have a great week!

Wintery cold weather made a return yesterday so it was nice to rug up last night for Friday Night Sew-In.
My sewing involved these items below and is still a work in progress.
What did or will you work on?
This morning I found my way over to Sarah's where she is sharing some 'From Little Things' in a giveaway.

Head over and say hello ... isn't it sweet?

Change of Colour and a Cute Giveaway
Isn't this little lady just the sweetest? If you visit Cath over at Cathron Country Designs, you could be in with a chance to win a similar young lady of your own.

Yesterday I took a break from the log cabins and worked on another PhD.

Above and below are the 9 patch blocks for my fish pond wall hanging from my 9-Patch Pizzazz book that I bought back in 2008 along with the feature fabric. The blue and red fabric I bought on our shopping trip in January 2009. So you can tell I don't rush into these projects, lol.

Hope to be able to share a pic of the top soon.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa
While visiting blogs this morning, I came across the Jolly Jabbers who have kindly offered to pass on my quilty Christmas Wishes to you.
Here's what I found at the Fat Quarter Shop. I would like to wish for ...

I could wish for clothing or chocolates
Should I wish for some lovely rain
Or maybe some beautiful fabric
To make a start on my 'Dear Jane'.
Chocolates would be nice
But gone way too soon
Clothing may not fit me for long
When after the chocolate I balloon.
Rain could be somewhat tricky
To deliver on your sleigh
So a gorgeous bundle of fat quarters
Will really brighten my day.
Thankyou Santa
PS: Help yourself to some hay in the shed for the reindeer.

Now as this 2nd anniversary snuck up on me, I don't have a gift ready and waiting, but I do know what I will be making.

Thankyou for all the lovely friendships made.
Blogversary Giveaway!
Or to borrow Maree's title from her blog at Farmyard Crafts (thanks Maree) ... a Retrospective Blogversary Giveaway! In overlooking her first birthday of blogging, Maree went back to all the comments from that particular month and put them all in the draw, a very clever idea indeed!
*
Well guess what? I've also overlooked my 2nd birthday of blogging which happend to be in the month of July. It was Maree's post that jogged my memory so I've waited until August and shall do the same.
*
I have printed off all of your comments made in the month of July ... will cut them up ... place in one of my lovely patchwork bags ... and draw a winner. Some of you lovely ladies have more than one chance. My way of saying thankyou for your continued friendships.
*
While I'm here, can I share with you my garden wanderings. Robyn mentioned her mulberry tree has new growth which prompted me to notice mine. I also found a lone passionfruit.

While I was wondering, I noticed two followers. They enjoy a wander around the garden in the warm sunshine as much as I do.
Be sure to check back later for a winner.

A New Blogger and a Giveaway
My lovely 'Christmas in July' swap partner has joined the blogging family. Click on over and give Carol at The Patch Craft a quilters' welcome.
While you're out and about, you might like to visit Kate at Stitched With Love. She's having a handy giveaway to celebrate the number 200.
I think I've managed to join in the Stitchers Angel Swap 2009. I say think because technology can be a pain in the you-know-what sometimes and I had to take the long way round.
July has vanished into thin air as far as I can tell but I hope to get some sewing done this weekend. I also have a few pics of things to share so I'm off to do a couple more things around the house and then we'll see.
Happy Sewing
