September Wrap

This month seems to have lasted so much longer, possibly because I've bee super busy, squeezed a lot in and have only now just realized that today is the last day of the month.

On looking back at my goals I'm happy to say that I achieved both. Yes I only set 2 goals :o)  Another wash cloth for my 1 Xmas Item and the TTS Block 'Santa and the Christmas Goose'.  I even finished the stitchery started at Highfields. Now I'm wondering what to work on while the NRL Grand Final plays out on the TV ... they'll be kicking off soon  ... should I get a head start on 1 Xmas Item for October or the last TTS block?  Refresh my crochet? Continue on another stitchery I have started? Or catch up on some zzzzz's after DS's 21st party last night?

I shall report back tomorrow as the Calendar rolls over to a fresh new month.

Getting back to baking my own bread, this one hit the top of the breadmaker.

Stitching A Little

A few stitches each night and they soon add up to another finished TTS block. This one is 'Santa and the Christmas Goose' ...

Just one block to go so I couldn't wait any longer and had to lay them out for a look at how they will go together.

Moving onto the next unfinished stitchery last night, I finished off the stitching on the project I received at the Stitchers Dream Day Out. Now to make the bag up, perhaps an October finish.

My roses have been responding to a little love and attention too :o)

Making A List ... Checking It Twice

Wow!  Some of the Elves have been skipping around the workshop very early this morning and sharing pics of their Christmasy Goodies. It's starting to get a little bit exciting now with the Festive Season just around the corner so check out the "1 Xmas Item" page above for some Christmas Cheer.

How is your list?  Hope you've been able to squirrel away a few presents or decorations ready for December. Here is my September item ... the blue wash cloth ... which will be wrapped together with the cream one and a nice cake of pretty soap.

A cheery thankyou to all the elves who make our '1 Xmas Item A Month' workshop a happy place to be.

Fun Weekend Away

Bag packed?  Check   .....  Sewing basket packed?  Check

Last Saturday 4 girls from our patchwork group headed 340km south to Highfields to attend 'Stitchers Dream Day Out' hosted by The Quilters Angel. Taking our time we enjoyed several stops along the way for morning tea, lunch and of course some shopping.

Sunday we were ready for a day of fun, stitching and meeting fellow bloggers. All was revealed from behind the curtain

and before long we were stitching away on one of 6 projects designed by Nikki Tervo, Gail Pan and Natalie Bird. This is the one I'll be completing.

It was all go at our table ... where did they go? ... out to enjoy some yummy lunch I think.

A highlight of my day was meeting up with 2 lovely ladies that I've been exchanging blog chat with for a few years and it was like getting together with old friends.

Fiona of Bubzrugz who is a fellow "1 Xmas Item A Month" Elf

and we shared our table with Kris of Tag Along Teddies , co-host of OPAM with Peg.

It was so much fun to catch up with blogging buddies.  All too soon it was time to pack up and head back up the road to home. A great weekend with good friends and plans underway for 2013.

FNSI Results

Sitting down in front of the TV last night, I went with some knitting for FNSI and I hope to get it finished tonight.

I'm not a very speedy knitter so I was pleased with the progress and am happy to say that I think my stitches are getting neater too :-)  It was also nice to sit and relax for a change ... September has been rushing past.

Eeek! Another Week!

Yes, another week has just flown by and I haven't had a chance to share the fantastic time I had last weekend with gorgeous friends and the lovely gals I got to meet up with ... I'll save that for tomorrow for I need to get my skates on and get organized for

What to work on?  Plenty to choose from!  Happy FNSI  :o)  Click here if you haven't signed up yet.

Stopping to Smell the Roses

September Goals

1 Xmas Item
TTS Block - Santa & the Chrismtas Goose

A very very short list this month.  With work plus 3 weekends in September earmarked for occassions, I really can't see too much sewing going on so I'm going to be happy with just these two things getting done. I'm learning that it's ok to take a step back sometimes.

My first rose of Spring 2012.

I still hope to find time to visit all your wonderful blogs and keep up with all the lovely creations. There'll still be a post on the 25th  for 1 Xmas Item so keep up the Festive sewing my fellow Elves ... Christmas is just around the corner now.
