May I Please ...

May I please have a chance to catch my breath?  A full household and crazy at work and I'm exhausted by evening. It's taken me way too long to finish the binding on Flynn's quilt but last night was it.  Photo shoot this afternoon.

Older brother joined in with his quilt. Not much grass cover ... It's forgotten how to rain.

Block 4 of A Merry Christmas Garden should have been finished too but I've only managed the final prep.

Can I please tick off for OPAM, WOOFA and 1XMAS ... follow the links on sidebars to share the love of creating.

April Catch Up

Ok, so I lost track of April but that's alright...lots of good happened even in this crazy time of social distancing.

FNSI, 1XMAS and WOOFA ... Way back on the night of FNSI I made some good progress on 'A Merry Christmas Garden'.

Mid April our Daughter, Son-in-Law and Grandsons (one 3 year old and one 5 month old) came to live while SIL awaits a knee reconstruction. As my sewing is spread between the 2 spare bedrooms, I've had to pack, store and tidy and have small projects out.

A little crafting and cooking for Anzac Day as we remembered those who served and continue to serve.

I did finish Little Flynn's Farm and was lucky enough that when I took it to a quilter yesterday, the lady had a free spot, loaded it on the frame and I was able to bring it back home yesterday afternoon. Now to get the binding machined on 1 side so I can sit and hand stitch the binding down.

Then on with 'Mother Goose Nursery' for grandson no. 4 between living in a busy household and going to work 3 days a week ... never a dull moment.

Ooops!  I've also forgotten to share pics of March blocks for my Murder Mystery Quilt

and April blocks which was adding onto March blocks.

Friday Night Feline

This little kitty is showing off his brand new whiskers with a proud 'meow'.

With all his new friends, my little farm is growing, but now I have to wait for the mail lady to bring a parcel of cottons in order to finish the stitching.

If you missed this Friday night as I almost did, head over HERE and be ready for an extra Friday Night With Friends ... thank you Cheryll.

I Missed February??!!

I know it's a short month and all but ... really??  A lot of "stuff" has been happening and if I start now I won't get any sewing done this afternoon to get a start on Friday Night With Friends.

This year I'm taking part in a Murder Mystery Quilt and the Feb block is due so that's a must to finish. Then onto another animal for 'Little Flynn's Farm' (my take on Little Maccas Farm).  I've increased hours at my town job this year to help the budget but it's eating away at my sewing time.

We have been fortunate to receive some rain and are now in a "green" drought ... lots of weeds, not much feed, some dams need a lot more and it's still going to be a long haul through this but we'll keep on keeping on.

Ok ... I'm off to sew, trace, iron, trim, iron some more ... woohoo ... see you tonight.

FNWLovelyF

Thank you dear friends for your support ... blogland is my escape where the bobbin never runs out and points always meet.

Thank you Cheryll for hosting this monthly evening, bringing friends together to foster creativity and inspiration.

My fabric farm has welcomed 6 fury and feathery friends ... ready for the machine applique.

Off to pick up Grandson J soon for a sleepover so the sewing has been packed away for now.

OPAM, FNWF and Farming

Start of a new month and I forgot to share my last finished project for October.

A toaster cover for a large 4 slice toaster for a very patient friend ... I won't mention how long ago I had promised her ... lucky the toaster is still going.

Driving around the paddocks taking feed for the cows, it dawned on me that today is not only a Friday but the first Friday of the month. So tonight I'll be working on a different farm ... one I am in full control of ... a new Little Maccas Farm for a new little bundle that is arriving very very soon.

As for our real life farm, things are going from bad to worse with no feed and dams only having a few weeks of water left.  Anyway, I'm not going to dwell on what I can't control, it's too depressing. Back to my sewing machine I go. I'm going to enjoy my Friday Night With Friends.

Sewing Happens...Occasionally

Seems to have been a long gap between posts and finished projects...every now and then I manage a flourish of finishes.

First is the best...Little Parker's Farm is done done done

and won first place at our local show on the weekend.

I've had the pattern for these baby change mats since August last year...finally two finished and off to DD and DIL.

Yesterday I still had nothing ready for 1 Xmas Item a Month and it so happened that while rearranging some patterns recently, I found a long ago printed off pattern. Diving into a scrap bag, 8 tissue packet covers found there way into my gift box.

A successful tally for OPAM too. As there are only a few April days left, I best get needle and thread stitching to finish my next Calendar Bear.

Getting Close to a Finish

Off to the quilter tomorrow ...

We received a beautiful 63mm (2 1/2 inches) of rain Tuesday evening ... fingers crossed for some more. Coming to the end of school term is always a weary time too ... and my messy house begins to show it ... 2 weeks to go.

Every Farmer Needs A Hat

Long time since I've done sewing of the dressmaking kind ... especially hats. Grandson Parker can keep cool on his walks with this one.

The animals are all happy on the farm ...

Miss Piggy  -  Block 10 of 12

Clara Chook  -  Block 11 of 12

Hippity Hop  -  Block 12 of 12

All living in harmony and awaiting borders.

It's Official

My 2nd Little Macca's Farm quilt is now officially Little Parker's Farm.

While I wait for my next town day to buy a better matching blue cotton to machine applique the letters ... I've been hand embroidering more animal sounds and whiskers.

Also officially back to work this week ahead of back to school for students next week. I am really going to try and keep up my blog posting and visiting more regularly than last year ... it's nice to keep in touch with friends xx

Enjoying slightly cooler weather today after a week of 38 to 41 degrees and oh the humidity. Hubby measured 12mm this morning after last nights storm while friends in town 50km away measured 101mm. More 38 to 42 degree heat forcast this week 😭

🎶  Just had to pop back in and edit ... keeping with all things official ... this is my 700th post ... wow!  🍹🎉

A Relaxing Start

Happy New Year

Firstly, here is my last hand embroidery for 2016 ... Billy Goat's "bleat" and mouth ... no. 1 of 12

Followed by today's  first hand embroidery for 2017 ... Bluey the Dog's "woof" and mouth ... no. 2 of 12

We've been enjoying some beautiful rain since sometime through the night and it's been showering on and off most of the day ... 46mm.

I have so many projects and ideas running through my head. UFO's I would like to get back to ... patterns I would love to start on and a BOM I am very tempted to sign up for. Let's hope my enthusiasm keeps going as a new year unfolds.

May your 2017 be all you could wish for xx

FNSI Plus

What began on Friday night continued Saturday and Sunday nights to get Little ?'s Farm to this stage ... slow and steady.

Before cutting sashings I prepared fabric for stitching Michelle's sweet 'Calendar Bears' and Wendy's lovely design.

Thank you      >^..^<

June Out The Door

As June rushes out the door I'm just scraping in with a couple of finishes to share in between sanding and painting our kitchen and dining room over the school holidays ... lots of prep needed!

The first is a snow white wash cloth to add to a baby shower gift for one of our teachers.

My second finish is a crochet rug for myself.  I purchased the kit through Better Homes and Gardens magazine in April ... so I can finish a project now and then.  Of course I read the pattern wrong and had to adapt the pattern to make it bigger.

Life on Little ???'s Farm has come to a standstill but I at least now have enough different pink fabrics to finish the last 4 animals.

Time to dash and get some dinner on before the natives get restless.  This cold and windy weather does nothing for my internet connection and neither does rainy weather, all of which we've been experiencing off and on so there's not much blog visiting going on either.

Happy Creating     >^..^<

Little Macca Had A ?

Sheep, Bird, Goat and Horse ... little bird needs a wing.

A busy week with travel, farm shopping and catching up with a lovely friend Fiona.  We both look forward to our annual stroll, shop, chat around Farmfest and of course a coffee. Thank you for braving that horrid traffic and making it a great day ... I heard that the next day's traffic was just as full on.  It never hurts to dream either and wouldn't this gorgeous She Shed make a wonderful addition.

Then it was off again to a campdraft/rodeo/show day out with this little birthday boy ... Happy 2nd Birthday gorgeous grandson.

Onward with the next full week of visitors, mustering and off-farm work.

Happy Sunday stitching     >^..^<

Chookshed Party Wrap-up

Put dinner on early to cook itself so I had more time to play with these fun guys at the party.

Still need to source a few bits and pieces of fabrics to suit but I'm happy with how these four have come together so far ... had a lovely time at the party with Chooky and friends. Thank you     >^..^<

Party in the Chookshed

This cyclonic wind is playing havoc with my internet. Good thing I get to stay indoors and party with Chooky and friends to celebrate the Chookshed's 4th birthday.

Friday I was lucky enough to go on a quick shopping trip and made some fabric purchases. Saturday we had a surprise visit from our son and grandson ... pikelets for morning tea. After lunch was fabric playtime with the new purchases and digging through my stash.

Every quilt begins with a first step ... a new "Little ???s Farm" and every farm needs a dog.

Time to start cutting and tracing.  Thank you Chooky for a great party and I hope everyone is having a fun weekend of sewing.
