Today is: The last day of the month; 1/3 of the way through Winter; 2nd day of sunshine :)
Time to look back at the small projects I've managed to get done. At the moment it's easier to grab the knitting needles and a ball of wool when I get a chance to sit down.
The bottom left pic is the quilt I started at a recent workshop and hasn't been touched since...maybe next week. The cream scarf was another UFO atleast 2 years old and I have plans for another washcloth for July with my DD's name (if my drafting works out).
I snapped this next photo yesterday ... our budgie 'Grace' has nerves of steel and was happily preening herself.
Enjoying some sunshine today ... happy sewing :)

Good News
My beautiful daughter left a message on my mobile on Friday to give her a call back when I could ... nothing urgent ... just some good news :)
Her BF proposed and of course DD said 'YES'. Congratulations to you both.
May the joy you shared this day be with you always.

Did You Hear The Sleigh Bells?
The 25th has come around again and I nearly didn't make it ... how about you?
I'd given up on getting something even started for Christmas this month and then the day before yesterday I remembered the next wash cloth. With the wet weather settling in for the day yesterday, there was nothing else to do but sit and knit ... and eat when the time called for it and helped along by warm drinks and a good movie "Australia". Sorry the picture isn't very clear as it's still a dreary wet day today but I've added a little 'joy' to it :)
Is everyone starting to get a little stash together of Christmas goodies? We're at the half-way point now and there's still plenty of time to join in and make a start if you haven't been able to so far. Join our happy little band of elves and get a head start on the Christmas rush. Check out all the lovely gifts and decorations that have been made and put away for safe keeping ... click on the 1 Xmas tab at the top of this blog.
Happy Sewing and I shall be popping around to see what everyone has been up to this month.

Srambled Thoughts
So much to do ... so little time ... sew little time. Here's a quick catch-up of what I can remember since last Friday ... I think :)
FNSI ~ Some delish balls of wool arrived in Friday's mail so I started straight away on a ruffle scarf for my sweet daughter. Finished it off Monday night and posted it yesterday.
Also on Friday night I packed my bag, sewing maching, etc for a 2 day workshop in Gayndah.
We had a fantastic time making lovely new friendships, learning new techniques and helpful hints and I managed to come close to finishing the 12 centre blocks for my quilt. (10 complete plus 1 side border)
Must dash ... the next load of washing is ready to hang. My unread blog count is climbing sky high but I know I will find time eventually to catch up with what everyone has been creating.
Happy Sewing

FNSI
Oh boy! June is whizzing past so fast that I nearly missed this one. If you nearly missed it too then rush over to Heidi and sign up quick!
I seem to have so many things going around in my head I don't know what to tackle next and has somebody been pinching minutes and hours out of my days because they seem to be getting shorter?
School holidays very soon so maybe I can slow down a little for a couple of weeks ... maybe?

Public Holiday Play
Today we enjoyed a public holiday to celebrate the Queen's Birthday and as the weather was horrid I got to stay indoors and sew a little, cut a little, iron a little (clothing too!) etc.
Even ironing the clothes wasn't too bad as it helped keep the cold away. I also managed to cut my fabric ready for a workshop this weekend and plan to do a little knitting tonight after dinner.
Although the weather has been wet and windy, there are moments of beauty also. This was outside my back door this morning.
Hope you enjoyed some colour in your day.

A Photo A Day ~ June
Just for something different I decided to play along in a photo a day challenge for June hosted by Fat Mum Slim. So far so good I've been keeping up and posting them on facebook with a little catch-up now and then when I'm not home or the internet is out.
Thought I'd share now and then on my blog with a collage of the photos so here are the first 6 days.

Sewing is a distant memory at the moment but I have managed a little embroidery last night and I'm off to get those fabrics cut. The workshop is next weekend and I want to be prepared!

June Heralds Winter
Today is the first day of Winter here in Oz and my scarves are coming in very handy. With pen in hand I have written down my list of goals for June which doesn't include any new scarves but I have a feeling there will be one or two :)
